Apple has almost done it once again! i dont know how good the food is on specs! Wheather the battery life will be good? If the music player will be as good as it is claimed! If the new walkman phone’s coming out this season by Sony Ericsson. How good a phone without any buttons except for one will be?

But keeping these Questions aside the phone has already garnered enough of marketing without Apple even spending a single $. Apple has rumoured to have spent only about 20 million $ whereas for the last release of its operating system it spent nearly ten times that amount without the desired effect being met!

Sadly Apple has decided to lock the phone with a Two year contract with AT&T as a result the phone is locked and cannot be used in other world markets like Europe or Asia. Also Apple by locking third party applications has ruled out companies from making use of the great interface available.

Had Apple brought out the Phone is such markets like India and China the phone’s sales would have been around 5 times more than that in North America as India is the worlds largest cell phone market and more mobiles are sold in India perday than those sold in North America per month.

I am looking forward to the release of the phone but i do not feel compelled to buy it as there are better phones coming out with a whole lot of features such as the Sony Ericsson W960i which ill have not only a 3.2 mega pixel camera but also a a touch screen interface and wifi and 3g support something lacking in the iPhone another great plus point of both the walkman phone and the iPhone would be its storage system a 8gb Solid State Memory which stores around 2000 songs!!!! Apple gives a choice of either 4GB or 8GB whereas Sony a default 8GB I still cant decide which looks sexier!Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I have heard tht people have also started sites begging for some1 to gift them a iPhone so if someone is listening send me one too!

  1. Wow. If you truly think anything from SE is “better” than the iPhone, and you can’t decide which one is sexier, then hey… knock yourself out. Enjoy your Walkman. One thing though, your claim that the iPhone uses a hard drive is completely false. It uses either 4GB or 8GB of Flash memory, not a hard drive. Take a pass on the iPhone if you want.

  5. I have lokked at many reviews regarding the Sony Ericsson w9601 and the iphone. I was warming to the idea of otaining an iphone for Christmas but having looked at the reviews for the w960i I have deduced that it would be more practical for my needs. Its small and compact and will replace my nano and present phone the benq semens ef series. Hale the w960i for looks and realistic practicalities of smartphone technology.

  10. Will all SE fans wait for the w960i or hesitate for the new apple iphone or nokia n95 8gb??

  11. Hi. I wish this discussion was led on. I think Apple lost a potential customer in me by delaying the release of the phone in India. All of this AT & T tactic has ensured I lose interest and go for a good Sony Ericsson. I will be buying W960i soon though I’ve heard talks of unlocked version of Iphone in the grey markets. I’m going to remain a SE guy. I have the w810i , not the best phone ever made but certainly a respect earner. Nokia phones are on their way out, a lot of people are quite bored of the statuatory warning of stealthy unyielding boredom that comes with a Nokia.

  12. Kanwar it’s true that Sony Ericsson phone’s are fun phone’s but for the price i find thier phone’s pricey since the features offered on the phones are lacking when seen side by side with a Nokia. Except for the Camera and the Walkman feature there is no reason that one should not go for a Nokia. I currently use a Nokia E51 after using a Sony Ericsson phone for almost 2 years and the Nokia phone has been a joy thruout considering its price and the features it offers like Wi-Fi etc. The apple phone is a costly option considering that even applications have to be downloaded from iTunes an most app’s are pricey unlike Series 60 apps which are generally FREE.

  13. well i would have to go for the Walkman. its made me wait just too long. but i would say the camera is disappointing. but i phone no simply because as u said requires download. also not nokia … too bulky. have to seen the thickness of n95? lol…

    Comment by obi — June 19, 2008 @ 8:55 pm

  14. Well Obi the Walkman does score on the music factor but Nokia aint making fat phone’s I currently use a Nokia E51 and its amazingly slim. My next phone the E71 is also touted to the slimmest QWERTY based phone. Nokia’s new offering’s are dangeriously slim.

but the iPhone is still not worth it.
